I teach at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs, where I am a tenured Associate Professor of Leadership and Management. I am also an affiliate faculty member at UMN in the Sociology Department, at the Center on Women, Gender, and Public Policy, and at the Interdisciplinary Center for the Study of Global Change (ICGC).

  • PhD Organization Studies, Stanford University (California, U.S.A.)

  • M.A. Sociology, Stanford University (California, U.S.A.)

  • PGDip Māori and Pacific Nations Education, Te Herenga Waka-Victoria University (Aotearoa New Zealand)

  • B.A. History, Haverford College (Pennsylvania, U.S.A.)

My work sits at the intersection of scholarly research and organizational practice—focusing on human-centered management, burnout prevention, and sustainable leadership in mission-driven organizations. I regularly partner with foundations, NGOs, and leadership teams to translate these research-backed insights into tailored workshops, structural diagnostics, and advisory support. If you think I could be helpful to your organization, please reach out.

My advisory work is shaped by my position as a tenured scholar, a decade of co-directing community-based work in rural Tanzania, and my daily practices as a mother and meditator. I hold deep awareness of the structural privileges and institutional positions I carry, approaching every partnership with intellectual humility, systemic analysis, and a commitment to stewarding sustainable, human-centered organizational life.
